NOTICE OF 2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

 to be held on

 SATURDAY NOVEMBER 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM

(Registration will start at 2:30 pm)

The business to be conducted will include the election of directors, appointment of an auditor, and the presentation of financial statements. All people nominated for election as a director and their two nominators must be Conservative Party of Canada South Surrey – White Rock  Electoral District Association (EDA) members in good standing. A maximum of one out of every five directors on the board may be resident outside of the South Surrey – White Rock federal electoral district (up to 16 resident directors will serve a 2-year term and non-resident directors plus any additional resident directors elected in excess of 16 will serve a one-year term.) All directors are expected to attend EDA Board of Director meetings, actively participate in at least one EDA committee, volunteer on EDA events and in federal elections, as well as to support fully the Conservative Party of Canada and its candidates/members of parliament. If fewer candidates run for election than there are director positions available, then the eligible director candidates will be acclaimed as new directors.

Members wishing to stand for election at our AGM for the position of director are required to have provided a completed Director Nomination Form signed by two other members and a completed Director Affirmation form to the EDA before the election occurs. The two forms are available at the links below or from the nominating committee (Chair Gabor Toth at   [email protected]) or the President Paul Schwartz at [email protected] or the Secretary Bob Gray at [email protected]. We ask that director candidates please try to provide their completed two forms to Paul Schwartz or Bob Gray by Tuesday November 1 so that the membership status can be checked and so there is time to have your name printed on the paper AGM election ballot.

For members coming by car, there is some parking under the White Rock Community Centre which is accessible off the south side of Russell Avenue or the north side of Thrift Avenue. There is also parking in the street lot beside the White Rock Playhouse at the corner of Johnston Road and Russell Avenue, in the Impark pay lot at 1513 Johnston Road north of Russell Avenue or in the Indigo pay lot off the east side of Foster Street behind the Central Plaza Mall. If you are combining your trip to the AGM with some shopping or a meal there may also be Central Plaza Mall or Semiahmoo Mall parking lot space available for you.
