The Honorable Michelle Rempel Garner MP

Michelle is a Canadian Member of Parliament and serves as the Shadow Minister for Health, the key role in responding to the COVID-19 crisis. She has served in Canada’s federal cabinet as the Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, and as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment. Her previous roles in opposition include serving as the Shadow Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and the Shadow Minister for Industry and Economic Development, and as Vice-Chair of the House Standing Committees on both Industry and Immigration.

Michelle has a professional background in economics, intellectual property management and technology transfer. Highlights of her career prior to her election, include directing the sponsored research portfolio of a top Canadian university, and acting as a senior consultant with a Canadian management consulting firm.

Michelle holds a degree in economics. She has been named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network, one of Calgary's “Top 40 under 40”, one of Alberta's "50 Most Influential People", and three times named a Canadian "Parliamentarian of the Year". Michelle is also a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum

 

The Honorable Kerry-Lynne Findlay MP

Kerry-Lynne Findlay served as the Minister of National Revenue, and previously as Associate Minister of National Defence, and Parliamentary Secretary to Justice. She also served as a member of several high-profile Cabinet committees including Treasury Board. Among other achievements, she was awarded the Golden Scissors Award in 2015 by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) for leadership in cutting red tape for small business.  

In October 2019, Kerry-Lynne was elected as Member of Parliament for the riding of South Surrey—White Rock.  Shortly after, she was appointed as Shadow Minister for the Environment and Climate Change in the Shadow Cabinet of the Official Opposition and is currently named to the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. As a lawyer and former judge on the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, this is her wheelhouse!  Kerry-Lynne lives in South Surrey with her husband, Brent. They are the parents of four children, and grandparents of three small boys and one girl. All four of Kerry-Lynne and Brent’s children are UBC graduates.
